Chronology of cameras Butcher

The Selfix cameras are automatic cameras, meaning that upon opening, they set themselves in operation (Self) without the user having to pull the lens forward. They are easily recognizable by the complexity of their scissor mechanism and the kinematics of deployment.

This complexity is also evident in the folding viewfinder.

The catalog describes this model as a luxury item. In today's terms, we would say "Nice To Have." It's the iPhone of 1914, except that it is made of metal, covered in leather, and takes photos without any tricks (but it doesn't allow for making phone calls).

This model comes with various combinations of lenses and shutters: an achromatic lens without a specified brand, a Rapid Aplanat f/8 lens, the same with a Compound shutter, Zeiss Tessar f/6.3 with Compound, Goerz Dagor f/6.8 with Compound. From the simplest version to the most advanced, the price varies by a factor of 4.5.

The presence of the star on the shutter, in the engraving, indicates that it is an Ica original camera. It is an Ica Atom.
